Getting into or getting back into listening to vinyl is not a choice for the faint-hearted or tight of wallet. There could be a great cost associated with it. But fear not, for entry-level record players are out there. Here is a review of the Fluance RT81 Elite High Fidelity Vinyl Record Player which might just be the best entry-level record player on the market.

Product Overview

Made by Canadian audiophiles, Fluance, the RT81 offers a pure analog listening experience. With premium components, this high-fidelity belt-driven turntable faithfully replicates the sound intended by the artist.

Its Audio Technica AT95E cartridge features an elliptical diamond-tipped stylus which tracks the grooves on your record with outstanding precision for high-definition audio. This is augmented by superior record tracking, facilitated by the balanced aluminium S-Type tonearm. This ensures the stylus is rested snugly in your record’s groove – it is not slipping out.

This option features a beautiful piano black finished plinth which is crafted from high-mass MDF wood. All variations incorporate isolation feet, an aluminium platter and a rubber slip mat which ensure superior isolation from unwanted vibrations.

Finally, the captivating, warm and true sound collected by the stylus is delivered via a high-quality built-in Texas Instruments pre-amp with ground terminal and gold-plated RCA line outputs.

As usual, it comes down to personal taste – what would you prefer from your turntable? The RT81 is a great entry-level machine which is demonstrably better than many lower-priced options. Shelling out $250 or so for this will enable you to luxuriate in a vinyl experience that vinyl enthusiasts insist it is capable of delivering.

  1. Wow, this vinyl record player is a real beauty! The piano black finish and the overall design make it a standout piece of audio equipment. It’s refreshing to see an honest review that doesn’t just focus on the positives but also mentions the cons. While it might have a few minor drawbacks, the visual appeal of this turntable is hard to ignore. It’s the kind of device that can enhance both your audio setup and your room’s decor. Thanks a lot for this review

    • Thank you, Sir!

Honesty is the best policy. I remember going shopping for a fishing rod (of all things) when I was a child. I asked for the cheapest one possible… the gentleman in the tackle store corrected me, “No, what you want is the best rod for the money that you have.” Wise words that I have never forgotten.

Getting back to turntables, I believe that this Fluance RT81 is a great product. Of course, it may have some drawbacks but we have to shop according to what we can afford.
