From a very low base, vinyl sales have skyrocketed in the past fifteen years. In 2022, there were more than 40 million units sold in the US alone, so chances are you will know a lot of people who are into buying new vinyl or are record collectors. With that in mind, and as if more vinyl were not enough, I wonder what the best gift for vinyl lovers might be.
So, let’s dive in and see what gifts vinyl record lovers might like.
Alphabetical vinyl record dividers
These are surely the perfect gift for your audiophile loved one. They will enable them to organize their collection correctly, i.e., sorted alphabetically. Whether they choose to sort by name or by artist is their own business 😉
How ever it’s done though, records can be easily identified and picked using these wooden record dividers. And what’s better, they can be put back in the right place after playing with a now-playing divider.
Made from lightweight yet durable materials, they can be used in either a vertical or a horizontal arrangement.
*You could really stir things up if you wanted. Make your giftee think very carefully about how they organise their record collection, by gifting them a set of these plastic dividers that they can demark themselves. Either alphabetically or by musical era or by genre or, even by bpm. Go on, they’ll thank you for it.
Vinyl record shelf wall mount
Coming in a pack of six, these clear plastic shelves would lend the impression that your giftee’s vinyl collection is floating against the wall. They are available in either 7-inch or 12-inch sizes.
Installed behind the record player, a different selection of records can be displayed to suit the listener’s mood or even show ‘What’s currently on heavy rotation.’
They are really simple to install, this example is even supplied with a spirit level to ensure they are fixed level.
‘Now playing’ record stand
A record display stand enables the showcasing of the album currently being listened to. In its simplest form, it will be a simple block of wood with a slot which enables the record’s display.
Or perhaps, like this Now Playing record stand, it might be a wooden base incorporating an acrylic panel which can be lit up to lend a soothing vibe to the listening experience.
Hint: turn all the other lights off.
Wooden headphones stand
This would be the perfect gift for the audiophile who has everything. Made from walnut, this headphones stand will fit headphones from most major manufacturers. From Sennheiser through Bose and Beats to Airpod Max and Sony PS, all should fit snugly on the stand but do check before you order.
Constructed robustly, with rubber feet pads, this stand is going nowhere, even on the smoothest of surfaces.
Vinyl record mug
Playing records can be a thirsty business. So why not buy your loved one a vinyl record mug? These stylish mugs come in either 11 oz or 15 oz capacity for them to enjoy their favourite beverage.
Made from high-quality ceramic material, these mugs are both dishwasher and microwave-safe. Printed in high definition, they feature the image of a series of classic album cover spines stacked on a shelf. This image extends all around the mug, so can be enjoyed whether your giftee is right- or left-handed.
Retro record coasters
A hot drink in a vinyl record mug will need to be put down somewhere between sips, so what better thing to put it on than a retro record coaster?
Designed both to protect the table and also to be non-slip, these practical yet stylish coasters look like real vinyl records. Once they are finished doing their job of protecting the furniture, they can be stored on a funky record player holder until the next time.
Vinyl records print cushion covers
Your giftee will likely have their coffee table adjacent to a couch. What better to adorn their couch than some stylish cushion covers adorned with a funky vinyl records design?
Fashioned from quality linen, these double-sided cushion covers feature a hidden zip so that a cushion of up to 18 inches by 18 inches can be inserted. One or more would look good in any music-themed living room. Or, for that matter, in any other room.
Vinyl record socks
Why not give the gift of socks? It worked for Dobby when Harry Potter gave him one. Of course, that was an uncool grey school sock, but we won’t let that get in the way of a good suggestion.
No, what you should give are these funky vinyl-record-inspired socks. With a polka dot pattern – the dots are records – these are great worn for work or for play. On the bottom, they read “VINYL SNOB” – a message that any self-respecting audiophile can relate to.
Made from 85% cotton with a mix of spandex (what could be better for the aspiring rock star) and elastic, they are well made and are going to last for years. I think I’d buy a pair for myself!
Vinyl record tee shirts
Certain people just love a tee shirt with a design on it. Designs incorporating vinyl records or a record label are generally as cool as Fonzie and that’s saying something because Fonzie was the epitome of cool.
So, don’t be like Richie Cunningham, what about one celebrating Hellcat Records from Union Street, Seattle, WA? Of course, this is just one tee shirt out of thousands, nay millions, out there.
Don’t just take my word. Go and have a look yourself.

Your suggestion of a turntable maintenance kit is spot on. It’s one of those practical yet often overlooked gifts that truly enhances the vinyl experience. Thank you for your comment.
With regard to gifts, my favourite would be the 1992 Guinness Book of Hit [UK] Singles bought for me by my brother. I know it’s from 1992, but much of the music that I really love is included in it.
With regard to turntable maintenance, as with anything that has moving parts, wear and tear to your turntable will occur. Accordingly, maintenance, from simple cleaning and oiling to replacing parts will be required periodically. Keep your eyes peeled for a new post on turntable maintenance.
